Délires Chroniques

Description

AUTHOR'S NOTE: "From 2021 to 2024, for 3 years, I was a columnist on Rire et Chansons. Rire et Chansons is a radio station that mainly broadcasts ads, but sometimes between the ads, there are songs. And even more incredible and unique in France, sometimes they broadcast comedy sketches. So, I thought it was the perfect place for my humorous songs to be played. Problem: the radio station doesn't play humorous songs, I was told. Damn, that's weird. But then my life will just be a succession of failures? But one day, Laurent Thibault, then the station manager, called me and said: 'Hey Bouboule (that's an affectionate name he gave me), how would you like to come and do sung columns on the "Morning du Rire" (that means "morning show" in English).' I felt the wind of success finally blowing in my direction, so I was going to do a song once a week on Bruno Roblès and Aurélie Philippon's show. A challenge I felt ready to take on. 'No, Bouboule, it's every day. Good luck!' Laurent Thibault slyly whispered to me. An original song a day. Lyrics and music. From Monday to Thursday. For 6 months. It might be a detail for you. But for me, it means way too much. I took on the challenge brilliantly with my guitar, then after 6 months, I was on the verge of burnout. I kept going but switched to one song a week. In this little game, the statistics worked in my favor. Having written the equivalent of about twenty albums, my producers were entitled to hope that there would be at least one or two good songs. The miracle happened: we found twelve together. Enough to make an album. It was beyond hope! And since I really wanted to give them their chance, given that I had created them 'guitar-voice' on the radio, I wanted to arrange them and make them totally sexy. I called my friend, the talented Alexis Campet, to handle the recording and production. We locked ourselves in his basement. When he realized that nothing was to be expected from me except rock, he decided to record me. We added tracks using as few instruments as possible: 2 guitars, 1 bass, pre-recorded rhythms, backing vocals, and an old Farfisa synth. And so began these Délires Chroniques: 12 slightly silly songs that, it seemed to me, were worth sharing. Enjoy!" OLDELAF
