OFFSHORE is the pseudonym of Scottish producer Ewan Robertson, who passed away in December 2012 during heart surgery while working on his self-titled final album. Born in Aberdeen in 1985, Ewan was known for his talents as both a musician and graphic designer. After moving to London to study at Central Saint Martins, Robertson joined the experimental rock band Lark, with whom he played until 2011. While studying, he began working as a graphic designer for the Big Dada label. He gained recognition for his designs for Wiley (Playtime Is Over), Roots Manuva (Slime & Reason), and Bonobo (Black Sand). He first released music on Stuff in 2009 and was signed to Big Dada as an artist in 2010. He released two EPs on the label, Aneurysm and Pacer, and produced his first album, Bake Haus, in 2012. Ewan was an exceptionally brilliant, witty, warm, and humorous individual, whose grace touched everyone who knew him.
