Alien is the fifth studio album by the band Northlane, awarded at the ARIA Awards. Alien is an abrasive album that merges the worlds of metal and electronic music into an intense whole that destroys everything in its path! Lyrically, singer Marcus Bridge reflects on the horrors of his childhood with unwavering honesty and an astonishing, provocative vocal performance. A true return to their roots, Alien is self-produced and recorded at Chris Blancato's studio in Sydney, where Northlane recorded their first EP Hollow Existence in 2010. Bridge also recorded the vocal takes at Electric Sun Studios in Sydney, where the quintet made their first album in 2011, Discoveries. Alien follows their live album Analog Future from 2018 and the surprise album Mesmer from 2017, which reached third place on the ARIA charts and was praised by the press.
