Rock steady

Description

Clever, Gwen Stefani and her band have managed to renew their style without straying too far from it. "Rock Steady" sees the group inviting a host of producers: some have worked with Madonna (William Orbit, Nellee Hooper from Soul 2 Soul), the pop icon that No Doubt seeks to get closer to here (Hella Good), others come from reggae (the legendary rhythm section Sly & Robbie), pure pop (Ric Ocasek, ex. Cars), and one, finally, is particularly glorious: Prince himself produces the track Waiting Room and provides the backing vocals.
The result is quite varied, No Doubt alternating experiments steeped in electronics and their classic signature displaying their usual influences, namely reggae (rock steady and dancehall in particular) and good old guitar pop. Fans will be delighted, while others will finally find the opportunity to get into it.
