Nina Simone wasn't known as a hit-maker, but in six months between October 1968 and February 1969, she entered the British charts four times. This was largely due to an eight-day promotional trip to the UK, which culminated in a live concert recorded for London Weekend Television's Sound of Soul show at Wembley Studios. The first side of this record features six songs from the broadcast shown on New York TV station WNED on March 9, 1969. The second side features four more songs from her July 28, 1969 concert at the Juan-Les-Pins Jazz Festival in Antibes.
