Released in 1957, "Little Girl Blue" is Nina Simone's first studio recording. The celebrated singer-pianist is accompanied by bassist Jimmy Bond (a member of the Chet Baker Quartet, among other groups) and drummer Albert "Tootie" Heath, one of the famous Heath brothers (the other two being saxophonist Jimmy Heath and bassist Percy Heath). Many tracks from this album later became true classics, such as "My Baby Just Cares For Me."
