First solo album for pianist, composer, and theorist Nik Bärtsch, better known until now as the leader of the bands Ronin and Mobile. In this opus, Nik Bärtsch offers a masterful dive into the most intimate aspects of his musical thought. As its title indicates, Entendre aims to get as close as possible to the creative processes employed by Bärtsch in the meticulous deployment of his polymetric modular pieces. Attentive to the dynamics of touch, finding freedom in forms of aesthetic restrictions, feeding the flow of each piece in order to nourish its structural development while engaging the music in new territories. Recorded at the Auditorium Stelio Molo RSI in Lugano, in September 2020, the album was produced by Manfred Eicher.
