For over 25 years, Nigel Kennedy has been recognized as one of the greatest phenomena of the violin. His unique technique, virtuosity, and talent, combined with an extraordinary look in this segment, have opened new perspectives on the classical repertoire, particularly on the artist's fetish work: Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons." 25 years ago, Kennedy's first and legendary version of Vivaldi's work, sold over 2 million copies, still holds the Guinness Book record for sales of a classical album. Today, Nigel Kennedy records his modernized vision of the work, which is teeming with sound discoveries, anachronistic boldness, and brimming with new energy, while respecting the concerto structure of "The Four Seasons." Vivaldi's timeless masterpiece remains as popular and appealing, but becomes surprising and clearly escapes its time, between rhythmic fury and lounge spaces. Nigel Kennedy has called upon his own orchestra, The Orchestra of Life, which he conducts. Composed of young musicians specializing in interpretations of contemporary works or jazz, the orchestra also includes a rock formation (guitar, bass, drums), as well as other atypical instruments, notably the didgeridoo. He has also surrounded himself, for this project, with Damon Reece (Massive Attack, Goldfrapp), who participated in the final mix of the album, as well as in all the electronic programming of the drums, along with Zee Gachette and Xantoné Blacq (member of Amy Winehouse's group).
