"The label Record Makers is pleased to announce the vinyl release of 'Fire of Love', the sumptuous original soundtrack of the film of the same name, composed by electronic music producer and AIR founder, Nicolas Godin. The 15-track album includes his composition for the film, which recently won the award for Best Original Music at the recent Cinema Eye Honors ceremony, as well as the original music inspired by the film. 'Fire of Love' tells the extraordinary love story of the intrepid French scientists Katia and Maurice Krafft, who died as explosively as they lived: by capturing the most spectacular images ever recorded of their greatest passion, volcanoes. 'When director Sara Dosa and I first discussed 'Fire of Love', we wondered what kind of music would best match the spirit of Katia and Maurice. We focused on the experimental DIY method they practiced throughout their lives to make their films, and I thought: 'what if in their own laboratory they had a tiny room filled with electronic instruments and oscillators; they would record the soundtracks of their films themselves with carefully selected loyal collaborators.' One word came to mind: artisanal. No expensive orchestra or pretentious percussion,' explains Nicolas Godin. He continues: 'Coming myself from the world of home studio recording (like all the initial members of the French Touch electronic music scene of the late 90s), it was natural to imagine myself in Katia and Maurice's laboratory, creating sounds, noises and melodies with a few ancient keyboards and analog tape recorders. That's how the Fire of Love soundtrack was born.' The fruit of this musical work is a lush krautrock electronic composition in the style of Tangerine Dream or Oneohtrix Point Never."
