Between regular tours with Chicano Batman, the essential psych-soul band from Los Angeles, Nicky Egan stealthily reconnected with her New York producer and Dap-Kings guitarist Joe Crispiano to complete her upcoming album, *This Life*. Driven by sincere confessional songwriting and influenced by soul classics, the record brings together some of New York's most sought-after musicians, such as Homer Steinweiss, Victor Axelrod, Brian Wolfe, and Elizabeth Pupo-Walker, to name a few. While awaiting this album, which will be released on Transistor Sound Records, co-managed by Colemine Records soul artist Kelly Finnigan, Nicky Egan presents her first single titled "Back To You," a refreshing take on the classic 70s soul sound that deals with ephemerality, growth, and acceptance. The B-side offers "Run Run," a cinematic Bonnie & Clyde-esque soul track, painting a picture that begins with incredible fuzz guitar lines followed by Nicky's sensual voice, making us feel like we're escaping in the back of a 1974 Maserati.
