Released in 1970, *Bryter Layter* is the second of Nick Drake's three albums and arguably the most overlooked. After being out of print for several months, this album is now available again on standard black vinyl.
The true artistic metamorphosis occurs with the more rhythmic tracks such as 'Hazey Jane II', 'Poor Boy', and 'One Of These Things First'. These lean towards folk-jazz aspirations akin to Tim Buckley and Van Morrison. Nick Drake is accompanied by members of Fairport Convention, as well as John Cale, formerly of The Velvet Underground.
*Bryter Layter* is cited as one of "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" by Robert Dimery in his seminal work.
