Nathan Feuerstein is the one behind the initials NF, a name now associated with one of the most exciting artists in the current rap/alternative scene. The life that NF infuses into his music proves to be deeply personal and captivating, especially since NF has come a long way. His modest origins reflect a tragedy typical of small towns: coming from Gladwin in Michigan, NF grew up in a family broken by drugs and violence. It was around the age of 12 that young Nathan discovered an outlet through music. Secluded in his parents' van, he began writing songs for hours, recording his freestyles on a karaoke machine. Just as Nas had influenced the style of young Marshall Mathers, NF was initially inspired by Eminem's music. He then pushed himself to explore other styles of rap (citing Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Drake, Royce da 5'9", and Slaughterhouse among his current favorites), allowing him to find his own voice. His melancholic lyrics, often focused on religion, are laid over productions that are both dark and epic. 'Perception', his 3rd album, was released last October. The 1st single 'Let You Down' surprised everyone by entering #1 on iTunes in the USA, the same goes for the album. Since then, it has been a tidal wave; 'Let You Down' is in the Top 5 for sales, streams, and airplay, from Canada to Australia, passing through Germany, England, and the Scandinavian countries. In France, the track is also on the rise: 20th on Shazam, 21st on Spotify, featured on playlists on NRJ, Skyrock, and local radios. Let You Down will be certified gold in the coming weeks for over 10 million equivalent streams in France.
