New Fast Automatic Daffodils (also known as New FADS) were an alternative rock band from Manchester, England, formed in 1988 by Andy Spearpoint, Dolan Hewison, Icarus Wilson-Wright, Justin Crawford and Perry Saunders. The band had a distinctly more artful and experimental style than many other bands associated with the then-popular baggy/Madchester style, with music reminiscent of both A Certain Ratio and Happy Mondays. Signed in 1990 by Play It Again Sam Records, their debut album Pigeonhole reached the UK Top 50 in November. The band released nine singles and three albums before disbanding in 1996.
