The critically acclaimed experimental New Age Doom group presents its collaboration with H.R., singer of the legendary band Bad Brains, with a release scheduled for March 6, 2026, on the Toronto label We Are Busy Bodies. "The idea was to bring H.R. into a universe he hasn't explored in a long time, a universe he helped create and pioneered. The album sits at the crossroads of chaotic hardcore and floating dub. Although it was never conceived as a dub album, the influence of that musical style naturally imposed itself on the music," explains Eric J Breitenbach, drummer and co-producer. "We didn't just want to revisit the past, but to create a unique sound. H.R.'s voice evokes survival, chaos, and hope all at once. This album is more powerful, stranger, and more alive than anything we've done so far. We are inspired and can't wait for the public to hear it." The ever-expanding musical lineup of New Age Doom now includes Andy Morin (Death Grips), Jason Lindner (keyboardist for Bowie's BLACKSTAR), Alan Cage (drummer for Quicksand), and Alina Petrova (Pussy Riot - Riot Days) on electric violin. Returning musicians include bassist Tim Lefebvre, now also on electric guitar, as well as trumpeter Dan Rosenboom, Gavin Templeton on saxophone, drummer Benedicte Pierleoni, DJ CrookOne, and Cola Wars on keyboards. Musically, the album explores the most extreme sounds of New Age Doom, notably punk rock, prog metal, and post-rock, while reconnecting with the floating dub atmospheres of Lee Scratch Perry's "Guide to the Universe" (2021), on tracks like "Radio On" and "Aetheopia Dub," led by Lefebvre and Morin.
