Description

Written between Quebec, Casablanca, and Marseille, in the studio, but also while walking, dancing, mimicking bird calls, a cappella, or just accompanied by a synthesizer, here is Fred Nevché's new album: VALDEVAQUEROS. It's named after an endless, fine sandy beach in Andalusia, surrounded by dunes along the "Costa de la Luz," where the wind never stops blowing. As if in an echo, Fred Nevché, with his unique timbre and according to his inner revolutions, unfurls an unwavering love of life. Falsely melancholic, the songs on this album, with their synthetic and minimal arrangements (Simon Henner / French 79, Martin Mey), abolish the boundaries between song, poetry, and long electronic stretches, and have the refreshing effect of summer storms. Conceived as a larger whole during the writing process, "Valdevaqueros" comes with as many music videos as songs, and a visual poem (taking the form of a 30-minute film), inspired by the epic poem "Décibel," which Fred Nevché released in January 2018 as a prelude to the album.
