Violin concerto, rococo variations

What could drive an interpreter today to record works from the great romantic repertoire as famous as the Violin Concerto or the 'Variations on a Rococo Theme' by Tchaikovsky? Just like Journey East released in 2015, this new album by Nemanja Radulovic is born from the same reflection on music, intimately experienced and tied to deep cultural roots. For the violinist, any new recording can only be the result of an eminently personal approach. Hence the desire to bring together the two most important works that Tchaikovsky composed for string instruments and orchestra, which have always been part of Nemanja's life. Hence also the choice to evoke his childhood by recording the variations on the viola, an instrument he practiced in his early days. For this new album marked by complicity and fidelity, Nemanja Radulovic has surrounded himself with the young and enthusiastic Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra and its conductor Sascha Goetzel, his ensemble Double Sens - bringing together his closest collaborators from his years at the Paris Conservatory and those from his childhood in Belgrade - and finally Yvan Cassar for a most convincing arrangement of the Rococo for string instruments and piano.
