Rooted
Description
Neave Trio colors its repertoire with the colors of traditional music! The Rooted program by the Neave Trio presents works based on folk music. First, Smetana, whose style broadly includes Bohemian rhythmic and melodic elements: he thus became the symbolic father of the Czech nation. Josef Suk, a student of Dvorak, composed his first Piano Trio, which also belongs to the Czech tradition. Also deeply influenced by Dvorak, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor draws inspiration from his African heritage with his Twenty-four Negro Melodies for piano, which are an excellent example of his research. He later arranged these pieces into the piano trio suite recorded here. The program concludes with Frank Martin's 1925 Trio, based on traditional Irish melodies. The Neave Trio brings all its talent to these original works, which are further enhanced by their proximity on the same program.Buy Rooted at the best price
