In just a few years, Native has made a name for themselves on the underground scene thanks to their incendiary live performances. Their second album, Orthodox, is more serious than the previous one: it deals with societal problems with a subtlety and latent violence that leave a lasting impression. The darkness is palpable in the guitar playing; the sound is rawer (the band decided to distance themselves a bit from the math-rock that characterized their first album) but still calculated and even very well controlled. Orthodox was recorded between 2012 and 2013 with Greg Norman (Russian Circles, Pelican).
