An unreleased live recording of Nathan Davis from 1966/67. Official release with full permission and cooperation of the Nathan Davis Estate & the INA (National Audiovisual Institute). Available on vinyl only. No CD, no digital release is planned. The style is not self-evident. Few musicians reach the level of artistic personality where they can be recognized unequivocally. It takes character, roots, honesty, soul. Nathan Davis had style. His tenor tone was unique. His soprano sound was equally so, and his approach to the flute was distinctive. His musical universe was just as original and knew no boundaries. This concert in Paris is audible proof that as a performer, his fluid phrasing, distinct articulation, explosive low register, growls, and cries were fueled by tremendous energy and furious invention — the man was on fire!
