Digipack reissue: The album of beginnings! With this debut album, Mylène Farmer invites us further into her cheeky and unsettling universe. She made a remarkable entrance into music with "Maman a tort," a track that was quickly censored because the young lady admits to enjoying certain impolite pleasures... The public, however, chose to embrace the provocation and turned it into a hit. In "Cendres de lune," Mylène Farmer narrates, between God and the Devil, her wounds, fears, and fantasies. This tormented and mature ingénue oscillates between danceable and melancholic tracks, between the erotic (the hit "Libertine," beautifully visualized by Laurent Boutonnat's long clip) and the bizarre ("Plus grandir"), even touching on the morbid. "Chloé" is a perverted nursery rhyme, "Greta" a beautiful tribute to the divine Garbo, "We'll Never Die" touches on soul, and "Vieux bouc" flirts with the satanic. The album also offers a new version of "Maman a tort" and a special club remix of "Libertine." The arrangements are meticulous and inventive. The whole is willingly enchanting.
