Indeed, MDB chose to record at Academy Studios in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, the very place where the band's now classic early albums were recorded. The sound engineer this time was Dan Mullins. The mixing, as usual, was done at Futureworks in Manchester under the guidance of Mags.My Dying Bride has undeniably remained the incandescent flame of Doom Metal since its very first album, As The Flower Withers, released in 1992, already by Peaceville Records. Influenced by bands such as Celtic Frost and Candlemass, MDB's distinctive heavy and atmospheric sound makes it one of those immediately recognizable metal bands, which has allowed them to forge a solid horde of fans over the years.
