Description

The story of the Parisian band MY Concubine begins in London. Eric Falce, a disbarred lawyer, songwriter, and founder of the group, reunited with Pascale Kendall, with whom he had recorded song demos a few years earlier. Pascale was then married to producer Paul Kendall (Wire, Nick Cave, Depeche Mode), who offered to finalize these tracks at Mute Records studios. It was a fantastic opportunity that they couldn't refuse. A nine-track album was produced but not released commercially. However, the nascent radio station Le Mouv discovered one of the album's tracks, 'Trois petits singes,' which was added to their playlist with heavy rotation. CDs placed in stores in Paris sold like hotcakes. Over the course of various albums and collaborations, Eric Falce, aka MY Concubine, has earned a reputation as a songwriter with finely crafted, introspective, and caustic lyrics. This quality of writing and composition also convinced actor Denis Lavant to star in the music video 'Dragon' (from the album 'Quelqu'un dans mon genre') and perform a split between Samuel Beckett and Bruce Lee, to whom the title and video pay homage. This music video was exclusively broadcast in MK2 cinemas. The new album 'Comme elles s'en vont' will be released in September 2022 and will be the first album where Eric Falce is the sole vocalist. It's an album where he speaks to us about love in a less roundabout way. A cynical exploration of this state that touches us, viewed from different angles: when it works, when it works less, when it doesn't work at all. Love on the run, between two beings, self-love, dreamed love, love of life, of the world, love in life and love of others are the themes found in this album. Brigitte Fontaine also made a small contribution to this album, on the track 'L'eschatologie.'
