The MUSIC ON HOLD band simply arrived with their demo under their arm, filled with contagious sunshine and verbose lyrics highlighted by agile melodies... Sometimes, that's all it takes to convince, and the comparison with Morrison's band stops right there. In ten incredibly well-crafted tracks, the lanky Emile Cartron-Eldin twists and turns to songs that have the appearance of faux-indolent bedroom pop and very mischievous LoFi. A conscious and resourceful musician, Emile Cartron-Eldin is also a well-known activist in the "weird music" scene as an organizer of high-THC and PCP parties called "Gone with the Weed." It's hard not to see in these pop songs the cleverly repressed paternity of R. Stevie Moore's tinkerings, Ziggy Stardust's craziness, or an attractiveness peculiar to this Generation Y for inexhaustible composers like John Maus, Panda Bear, or Ariel Pink.
