Hexadic III

Description

American indie and psychedelic rock guitarist Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance and Comets on Fire described in his book The Hexadic System a new combinatorial theory of musical composition with incredible potential, and demonstrated the possibilities of the system in 2015 through two albums, Hexadic and Hexadic II. For this third album, other artists experimented with the compositional system: San Francisco psychedelic rock band Moon Duo, Jenks Miller (Horseback, Mount Moriah), the duo formed by folk artist Meg Baird and Charlie Saufley (Heron Oblivion), Bhutanese Tashi Dorji, English Richard Youngs, the trio consisting of guitarist Stephen O'Malley of Sunn O, drummer Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God), and Marc Urselli, and finally Phil Legard. Each artist appropriated the system to develop their own universe and deliver tracks of great beauty!
