Far from confining themselves to the genre's clichés, they embrace disco's canons and update its message, creating hybrid and rhythmic music for the digital age...It all started with a few New Yorkers who loved Philly Soul and hypnotic grooves. In the 70s, they literally invented club culture: DJs David Mancuso, Nicky Siano, Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles, label managers Mel Sheren and Neil Bogart, and the extraordinary remixer Tom Moulton.All of them were the cornerstones of a new sound that changed music forever and paved the way for house and all its derivatives.Today, a new scene is emerging and updating the sound of classic Disco.
