TV Anime And Manga New Age Soundtracks 1984 1993
Description
In the 1980s, anime experienced a true creative and commercial boom, supported by significant financial resources and a desire to entertain a rapidly expanding middle class. Freed from the usual constraints, studios like the famous Studio Ghibli had all the freedom needed to experiment, both artistically and narratively.TV, Anime & Manga New Age Soundtracks 1984-1993 explores this period through eight tracks, blending classics with unknown rarities. This compilation brings together compositions that mix electronic and acoustic instruments, often with spiritual or environmental themes, and sophisticated percussive rhythms inspired by non-Western musical traditions. Among them is "Kaneda" by Geinoh Yamashirogumi, a unique group composed of musicians, anthropologists, and computer scientists who created the soundtrack for the cult anime Akira. It is with them that the sound, chords, and frenetic speed of Balinese gamelan became intimately linked to this groundbreaking work. The creators of the era aimed to transcend Japanese borders. Many soundtracks were then created to illustrate stories set in distant lands or imaginary worlds. The compilation notably features Farsighted Person by violinist Norihiro Tsuru, for The Heroic Legend of Arslan, which immerses us in ancient Persia, as well as Hei (Theme of Shikioni) by Yas-Kaz, for the historical science-fiction manga and anime Peacock King - Spirit Warrior. Yoichiro Yoshikawa's soundtrack for the NHK series The Miracle Planet also offers two tracks - Tassili N'Ajjer and Fiesta Del Fuego - that take us into unexplored natural landscapes. The compilation also includes more experimental creations, such as Fushigi Song by Chumei Watanabe, a childlike piece influenced by psychedelia, and the essential Hearts Beats - Theme for Andrew Glasgow by the Columbia Orchestra, a little-known jazz-funk group composed of some of the best studio musicians in Tokyo at the time. Finally, composer Kan Ogasawara concludes the compilation with Gishin Anki, a piece of dramatic intensity.Buy TV Anime And Manga New Age Soundtracks 1984 1993 at the best price
