To mark the 50th anniversary of the 'Wattstax' festival, Craft Records is releasing, for the first time on double gatefold vinyl, reissues of the two original albums released in 1973: 'The Living Word: Wattstax 2' and 'The Living Word: Wattstax'. Wattstax was initially a benefit concert to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the Watts riots (1965), before becoming a legendary 7-hour show that drew over 100,000 spectators. Two albums featuring highlights from the concert were released following the festival.
