LES SKATALITES were pioneers of Jamaican music in the world. Among the most recognized members of the group, DON DRUMMOND, TOMMY MCCOOK, JACKIE MITTOO, JOHNNY MOORE, LLOYD KNIBBS and others were definitely representative artists of their country's independence. During their formation from 1963 to 1965, THE SKATALITES recorded more than 100 original songs that are part of the most prestigious releases of the SOUL JAZZ label. They bring to classic jazz exotic, Latin, rhythm'n'blues, and pro-Rastafari touches, which allows them to communicate a rare energy and intensity. Previously a limited edition for Record Store Day, the album is now available in CD and 2LP versions to which 10 bonus songs have been added.
