Counting singles and different album versions, more than 100 records were released under Kodjo's label between 1997 and 2009, with the vinyl version of the Nouvelle Donne compilation being the first release on this long list. The project lives up to its name, as new artists made their first or nearly first appearances on record (Agression Verbale, Rimeurs A Gages, Seul 2 Seul, Daomen…), sometimes alongside more established figures such as Mafia K’1 Fry, Driver, Ill, or Les Sages Poètes de le Rue on the same track. This was a way to attract the attention of an audience eager for these headliners to a new generation of MCs, much like the track “Attaque à mic armé” by Zoxea and ATK, which quickly became a classic in the group's discography. It would be another two years before the CD release of the project, which for the occasion was enhanced with six additional tracks from Eric des Rimeurs A Gages, Yusiness, Sir Doum’s, Mo’Vez Lang, Cercle Fermé, Too Leust and Da System Crew. We should also highlight the explosive intro by DJ Poska, who in 1997 would notably distinguish himself with volume 25 of his What’s The Flavor mixtapes, the ultimate reference in the genre. Kodjo would further demonstrate his flair by then signing some of the project's participants to his label, such as Ol’Kainry and his group Agression Verbale, Daomen, Disiz La Peste, and Antilop Sa from ATK.
