Wednesday on the Moon #1 is a compilation bringing together 11 French artists who answer, in music, the very simple but profoundly fundamental question: "What do you sing to your child?". We offer you an intimate and universal journey, navigating between languages and styles, with transmission and the link between generations as its common thread. Be warned, these songs for their children are not necessarily "children's" songs... You will recognize two cinematic escapes: a French version by Renan Luce and his daughter Héloïse of the song "Edelweiss" from the musical The Sound of Music (Robert Wise, 1956), as well as "India song" from Marguerite Duras' 1975 film of the same name, originally sung by Jeanne Moreau and reprised here by Anne Darban. You might also recognize the emancipatory lullaby "Duerme Negrito" by Lilimarche, a traditional Spanish-language song popularized in the 70s by Mercedes Sosa, or "Bonjour," a "fablette" by Anne Sylvestre reinterpreted by La Féline and her son Nils. You will discover unreleased tracks: Jérôme Pichon's lullaby "Endors-toi," Dorothée de Koon's tender ditty "Pas poser la tête," Fabienne Debarre's underwater adventure "Turritopsis," Ricky Hollywood's metaphysical journey "L’infini," Guillaume Leglise's father-to-daughter confidences "Mon temps," or Julien Ribot's prenatal pop hit "Coco Jo" with his partner Annabelle. The compilation gently concludes with Bach's "Prélude en Si mineur" by Olivier Marguerit. And you, what do you sing to your child?
