the archaeology of the future of Francophone musicThe image of French song is old-fashioned, almost monolithic; it’s hard to imagine everything that lies beneath: the minorities, the outsiders, the "cursed artists", those who delineate the fringes of song, those cracks that let in the light: the Francophone pop underground, in short.Injecting a little pop under the earth and sprouting, or creeping joyfully. The underground world is atomized: there are local music scenes, defined by geographical limits, and then stylistic scenes, all these nebulous entities remaining impervious to each other, or almost. This is therefore the joyful claim of an invisible community of enthusiasts, in the noblest sense of the term, which tends to create curiosity, unexpected connections, surprise, beyond the usual cliques and the timidity felt almost everywhere in most media, among more and more concert programmers...This anthology aims to be a real-time study of the underground and Francophone activity of our time, via Metz, Toulouse, Valence or Montferrand, Montreal, Brussels, Bordeaux or Haute-Loire. The exploration of byways rather than the mainstream, an ode to self-production and stepping aside. It is also a possible framework for the archaeology of the future of Francophone music.This is the starting point of our constantly moving underground network.In his abecedary, Deleuze said the majority is nobody, the minority is everybody.
