Decca Records is launching a new series of remastered reissues of key British jazz releases from the 60s and 70s with "British Jazz Explosion". The series kicks off with this compilation of gems from the entire series, featuring iconic names such as Stan Tracey, Mike Westbrook, John Surman, Michael Garrick, Kenny Wheeler and Don Rendell. Together, they found a new voice for British jazz and laid the foundations for generations of jazz musicians to follow. Several tracks will be available on vinyl for the first time since their original release. This box set also includes a 20,000-word booklet written by Tony Higgings, detailing the history of post-war British jazz and artist biographies.
