HOSTILE HIP HOP VOLUME 1 VINYL The commercial success of the first generation of French rappers (Mc Solaar, Doc Gyneco, IAM, and NTM) opened the doors to success for a second wave. A symbol of what is now called the "golden age of French rap," the Hostile Hip-Hop compilation left an indelible mark on French rap. The compilation brought underground artists to the forefront, where they have remained to this day (over 100,000 copies sold). Many tracks considered classics were delivered on this album by artists who were then unknown. With "le crime paie," Lunatic established a classic and positioned Booba as a leader of this new generation. Arsenik spit "l'enfer remonte à la surface" and proved that one can remain hardcore while giving meaning to their lyrics. Xmen revealed the Time Bomb crew with "pendez-les, descendez les," La clinique (Doc Gyneco's group) introduced a completely new West Coast style with "tout saigne," Polo (a link between Assassins and NTM – a member of the group Black Tagga with Solo and Joey Starr) released "panne sèche," a track that has become cult.
