Great 20th-Century Spanish Pianists

Description

In 1975, alongside the inauguration of its new headquarters in Madrid, the Juan March Foundation launched its Recitals for Young People, a series of concerts with commentary by a host, aimed at secondary school students and performed by leading national artists. In its first edition, five exceptional Spanish pianists - all former Foundation fellows - accompanied teenagers on a journey through European piano music, from Mozart to Debussy. This remastering brings new life to the historical recording of several performances from that first season. The selection featured on the original 1976 vinyl pressing entitled "Concerts for Young People. Romantic Piano Recital" constitutes a valuable auditory testimony of the Spanish piano scene of the time, which now re-emerges after a meticulous sound restoration process.
