Jarring Effects now has 100 albums in its catalog. It also features established and developing artists always on the lookout for innovative projects. "Fool," the magnificent collaboration between High Tone and the Komplex Kapharnaüm collective, recently presented during "les invités" in downtown Villeurbanne, or "EZ3kiel's Poetic Mechanics," conceived from the Naphtaline DVD, which is exhibited across Europe and whose soundtrack is now played in National Theaters, are perfect examples. Jarring Effects also features Oddateee, a young American MC touring all over Europe, and Ben Sharpa, the South African rapper who is preparing a new creation for the Sziget Festival in Budapest. If we speak in the present tense, it's because Jarring Effects is still here! Of course, a few months ago the label found itself in the turmoil of changes in the record market, and we even feared the worst, but that was without counting on the incredible network built since 1998. An artistic capital entirely built through disruptive innovations and musical advancements that influenced an entire scene and brought together an audience. Because, with hindsight, we can say it: there's a before and an after High Tone, EZ3kiel, Mei Tei Sho, or Kaly Live Dub. This network, which notably enabled the organization of benefit concerts earlier this year, also relies on professional ties extended to the other activities of the Lyon-based structure: organizing tours and the Riddim Collision festival, managing its recording studio. But above all, Jarring Effects can count on an intact "fan base" that shows its support on every occasion: participation in concerts, mobilization during calls for donations and various promotional operations. This is why, after a semester without any releases (unheard of!), Jarring Effects is back with numerous album projects. Fx100 brings together the names that have built the label's catalog, accompanied by a multitude of guest artists for the occasion.
