The real great rock and roll swindle isn't to be found with the Pistols, or rather with McLaren and his film "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle"... you'd find it more in Belgium, more precisely with Lou Deprijck and Yvan Lacomblez, two genuine Bruxellois. If their names don't ring a bell right now, there's a good chance you've already danced to the interplanetary hit they happily (and now wealthy) created: "Ca plane pour moi!" "Ca plane pour moi"? A silly song, a fake performer... the prank sweeps the world, and in a few months, over a million 45s are sold in France alone. And what's incredible is that this hit will generate countless covers, to become (what irony!) a universal punk anthem: think what you will, but it's truly the heist of the century! Such a jackpot will, of course, arouse envy and inspire many vocations among our compatriots. The derision that is the hallmark of this song will finally create the bridge that was missing between original punk, too violent and dirty, and the general public, who will be able to enjoy their Saturday night pogo.
