Initially scheduled for 06/09
The only album dedicated to Andy Warhol's musical world. A compilation highlighting the musical and artistic effervescence of the 1960s/1970s with leading artists (Lou Reed, Blondie, Tina Turner, John Cage). Among other exhibitions, the Tate Modern Museum in London is preparing a major exhibition on Andy Warhol's work for early 2020.
Rarely has a painter's life and work been so permeated and influenced by music. Andy lived IN and THROUGH music. Eclectic, he appreciated both the popular music of his time and the great composers and performers of Italian Opera. What emerges from this journey into Andy's musical universe is the coherence of his musical tastes with his pictorial production. One cannot help but also think of Karl Lagerfeld. Both were authentic "sponges," always passionate about the artistic manifestations of their contemporaries, both jealous of their unchanging personas, and both, each in their own field, persistent facilitators, almost magically integrating into their respective creations the pure essence of the society in which they evolved.
