Live At Hammersmith 1973

Description

Live at Hammersmith 1973 is probably the best live recording from the Mott the Hoople archives. The band was at its peak, riding high on their hits "All the Young Dudes" and "Roll Away the Stone", and promoting their Top 10 critically acclaimed album "MOTT". On December 14, 1973, Mott the Hoople played two concerts at the Hammersmith Odeon; the second became legendary in rock folklore: at curfew time, invading fans fought with venue staff and stewards while Mott continued to play. This vinyl captures the fire and energy of the concert and that struggle. They concluded this memorable evening with a blistering version of "Walkin' with a Mountain", sparkling renditions of "Sweet Jane", "Sucker" and the unforgettable "Deadly Medley". The passion, power and glory of Mott The Hoople are all brought together in this limited edition. SIX OF THE NINE TRACKS APPEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME ON VINYL. This unique version of 'Live at Hammersmith 1973' is presented as a 180g gatefold double LP. It contains vintage photos, liner notes written by Campbell Devine (MtH leader) and a replica 84x56cm poster from the 1973 UK tour.
