The album takes its title from a painted inscription on one of the trucks, referring to the 32 concerts they played with only two days off. The tracklist ultimately includes 3 songs from "Ace Of Spades", 5 from "Overkill", 1 track from "Bomber", and 2 from their first self-titled album. Originally released on June 27, 1981, Lemmy reportedly said about this record: "I knew this would suit us best, because we are truly a live band. You can't listen to a record and discover what we're about. You have to see us." Upon its release, ""No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith"" went straight to number one, the first and "Symptom Of The Universe", or surprising tracks such as "Supertzar" which features harp, Mellotron, and the English Chamber Choir.
