Calendar, their second album, is the band's first recording to benefit from commercial distribution. Demonstrating an unyielding thirst for autonomy, the musicians self-published their CDs, created their videos and photos, and internally organized their tours. And we find these pop compositions with prominent scars, these naive gems, this spontaneity, this fragility, and this underlying tension that inhabit their tracks. And while one certainly thinks of Joy Division, The National, Interpol, or even Belle & Sebastian or Destroyer, their music remains deliciously modern and elusive.
