MORLEY LOON is from Mistissini, a village in northern Quebec. Accustomed to composing and recording songs in Cree, his indigenous mother tongue, Northland, My Land is the first full-length album in that language. LOON started music at a very young age and developed an organic and unique style that has inspired many indigenous musicians. He is indeed an absolutely talented musician, who draws from a certain spirituality and creates music of a transcendental quality, rarely heard, and accompanies himself with percussion and flute.
