Colemine Records celebrates the tenth anniversary of *Sound of Sinning*, the album that marked a decisive turning point for Monophonics. Released in April 2015, this record established the band as one of the modern heirs to the San Francisco music scene, extending a soul tradition imbued with psychedelia. True to their roots without being confined by purism, the Californians developed their own sonic identity, "Psychedelic Soul." Following *In Your Brain*, influenced by Funkadelic, Sly & The Family Stone, and Norman Whitfield's productions for The Temptations, *Sound of Sinning* marked a stage of maturity. Northern soul, doo-wop, rock'n'roll, psych pop, and cinematic atmospheres naturally intertwine within it. Driven by analog production by Kelly Finnigan and Ian McDonald, and recorded on eight-track tape at Transistor Sound Studios in San Rafael, the album embodies this blend of vintage authenticity and contemporary sensibility. Since then, Monophonics has continued its ascent with *It's Only Us* (2020) and the concept album *Sage Motel* (2023), which sold over 10,000 copies. Always driven by a unifying live energy, the band frequently tours and has just completed a series of concerts with Lee Fields, before a new international tour planned for 2025. Ten years after its release, *Sound of Sinning* remains a cornerstone of their discography, now reissued in an anniversary version eagerly awaited by fans of soul and psychedelic groove.
