Description

After two exclusive tracks for the Studio Pigalle compilation in 2023, where he invited singer Nina Tonji and formed a quartet with his classmates from the Centre Des Musiques Didier Lockwood, Monfort returned to the studio to record this first album, with tracks tested on Parisian stages, at La Petite Halle or the Duc des Lombards. Coherent and hard-hitting, HYPNOTISED draws from the great African-American tradition, soul, jazz, or rap, but Alex and Nina also allow themselves a poignant piano-voice duet in French, the track "Saison", where the magic of their musical chemistry is heard from the very first measure.
