On ‘Cumbia Divina,’ the bass and drums hit hard, driving a vibrant brass quartet, and enough percussion to keep the dancefloor moving. This song is sung by the soulful voice of Divina Jasso, who first discovered the instrumental track when she was housemates with Mitchum. Her voice fit the song so perfectly, it was clear the music had to be rearranged for her. On the B-side, the rhythm continues with “Bansuri,” an instrumental tune named after the Indian flute. Full of lush harmonies in a unique soundscape, this song flows like a winding river, blossoming with the sounds of cumbia and afrobeat.
