Between dawn and dusk, Roxane Terramorsi and Nicolas Gardel didn't want to choose: their project Minuit Soleil (Midnight Sun) is aptly named. This debut album, La Promesse (The Promise), immediately builds bridges between darkness and a comforting halo of light with Feu sacré (Sacred Fire), establishing an ethereal atmosphere that hints at melancholy and hope. Minuit Soleil oscillates between graceful melodies and powerful arrangements, with Nicolas's guitar expertly weaving through the elegant and never bombastic violin and cello swirls. Led by these two long-time intimate musicians, the sextet featured on this album and in live performances works wonderfully and promises a very bright future for Minuit Soleil.
