Minou reminds us of 80s new wave, transatlantic indie, but also the best of French pop. Minou is meant to be listened to, Minou is meant to be danced to. This is normal because their own Rolling Stones are called Daft Punk, their first big impression, their first desires, emotions. New territories to explore, the magic of a world to reinvent for a generation that grew up and freed itself to Daho's lyrics or MGMT's music. Pierre Simon and Sabine Stenkors have been refining this new language since they met in high school. Several bands and almost 10 years later, this language has become common, a blend of their experiences and collaborations from that period. A clever mix, both organic and electronic, a curious and ambitious concoction of genres and two voices that become one. Dreamy sounds, false naivety, and tenacious choruses are some of the elements that make up Minou's elixir, forcing us to immediately fall under their spell. Minou is a spaceship piloted, mixed, and produced by Julien Delfaud (Phoenix, Superdiscount, Benjamin Biolay, Woodkid) that gently lands on a synthetic volcano spewing riffs, love, and hope. Minou achieves the crazy feat of making our melancholies joyful, making our doubts dance, mending our anger, and imagining a greater promise of improvement. The singing is ethereal and the harmony of voices on each chorus carries you away. The lyrics are sculpted, intricate, cosmic, sensitive, tough, and radiant. France Inter was not mistaken in selecting them for "La Relève," a prize which Minou happily won in 2015."
