{"product_id":"miet_auslander-vinyl_2022_lad","title":"AUSLANDER (vinyl)","description":"Bass + looper + vocals = Miët from Nantes, France. Noise rock for fans of Deity Guns, Bästard, Swans, and early PJ Harvey...Does solitude lead to encounters with others? Although always alone on stage and in the studio, Miët expresses how discovering alterity nourishes her creativity, to the point of choosing a German title for this second album: Ausländer. For the Nantes-based artist, this term signifies the magic of an unexplained yet familiar word. This \"foreigner,\" or more precisely this \"other,\" seems to take on the appearance of a character that we get to know throughout the album's ten tracks.In this new album, Suzy LeVoid continues with her long-standing leitmotif: abrasive rock with never gratuitous fury, a mix of sound loops, hypnotic rhythms, and powerful, distorted basslines. Vocals still, and more than ever, hold a central place in her work. Her voice reveals both her softness and her passions, as in the poignant \"The Path,\" and her anger and rage, as in \"I Belong to the Dead.\" Miët once again demonstrates her ease in moving from one register to another, adapting them and making them her own. This second album abounds with multiple emotions, reflecting this \"Ausländer\" whose state is in perpetual motion, and the introductory track \"Ones\" sets the tone: \"How could you see my face, when I have a million ones.\"Less minimalist than the previous \"Stumbling, Climbing, Nesting,\" \"Ausländer\" is rich in both composition and songwriting. Strongly inspired by Walt Whitman's work, Miët, like the American poet, subtly uses repetition to give her lyrics a hypnotic quality. This sense of hypnosis is greatly accentuated by the succession of sound loops, creating a perception of an infinite cycle and thus giving rise to an almost mystical atmosphere.Then there's the bass, long trails of four-string lines that loop until the original tone is lost. This bass is dominant, sometimes crushing, often distorted by the many effects used. Miët manages to push the limits of her favorite instrument. In her second album, the Nantes artist also explores new sounds, notably with the repeated use of synthesizers. The album's final track, \"The One that Loves,\" is a fine example, surprising with its introspective and dreamlike character.Sometimes a witch, sometimes a warrior, Miët presents multiple facets, none giving away what the next will be. The encounter with this \"Ausländer\" makes us perceive, as she herself expresses, the diversity of possibilities, the multiplicity of angles, as in an encounter where a first glance would not be enough if the subject is worthy of interest. A concept brilliantly illustrated by the album's striking visual. In this initiatory journey, which by definition pushes us into the unknown, we will always be another's \"Ausländer.\"","brand":"Miët","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55310259585368,"sku":null,"price":20221021.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3521381571837_2ae2a8b4-7356-4680-99b4-0b4814524868.jpg?v=1760318298","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/miet_auslander-vinyl_2022_lad","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
