24 Préludes pour violon solo
Description
The 24 Preludes for solo cello by Mieczyslaw Weinberg have a particular history. He composed them in the late 1960s for Mstislav Rostropovich, who never performed them. The musical language used in these pieces can be considered aphoristic, often brutal and provocative, revealing a state of inner turmoil. Their interpretation may have been problematic during the time of the Soviet Union. Gidon Kremer arranged these Preludes for solo violin, and this is a world premiere recording of his arrangement. In his concerts, he often performs them against a backdrop of images by the famous Lithuanian photographer Antanas Sutkus.Buy 24 Préludes pour violon solo at the best price
