The Patience

The reason Mick Jenkins decided to title this album "The Patience" corresponds to what it took for him to get there. Having to wait to free himself from a label that didn't support him or didn't see his vision was frustrating. He had to wait to release his best music, because he wanted to do it with a partner who believes in him and in the way he wants to present his art. While he waited patiently, Mick worked on this incredible work that truly became something special. Mick compares himself to a Michelin-starred chef when he crafted the lyrics for this album; perfecting every line, incorporating complex rhyme schemes and metaphors. He stated that he simply wanted to showcase his rapping skills and prove that he was better than most.
