Disciple of Vlado Perlemuter and Jean Hubeau, Michel Dalberto has established himself over thirty years of career as a master and a passionate defender of French music. His signature on the Aparté label of a series of recordings dedicated to Debussy, Fauré, Ravel, Franck, marks his grand return to recording. Each episode will be recorded "live" and accompanied by videos. This first opus honors Claude Debussy. It was recorded on May 30, 2015, on a Fazioli piano at the Teatro Bibiena, as part of the Mantua chamber music festival: "Two years ago, I played near Venice pieces by Debussy on a Fazioli piano and it seemed obvious to me that this piano offered the ideal sound for this music of shadow and light. The idea of recording a recital in a beautiful Italian theater came as a logical continuation. The 'Bibiena' (named after its architect Antonio Bibiena) in Mantua was inaugurated in December 1769 - Mozart gave a concert there a month later. It is, along with the San Carlo in Naples, my most beautiful memory of an Italian theater where I played." Michel Dalberto
